Cederqvist on his team mates, the physicality of English football and Swedish girls…

1) Before joining Walsall what were the highlights of your career?

When I became swedish champion with Djurgården 2003. In 2005 when I played for Östers IF, we got promoted to Allsvenskan.

 

2) What convinced you to join Walsall rather than the other clubs who were interested in you?

I wanted too try something different and I´ve always liked English football.

 

3) Did you enjoy life in England and did you find it easy to settle?

I really enjoyed my time in England even though there are big differences compered to life Sweden. I didn’t really settle because I only lived there for a short time.

 

4) How does the game in England compare to Scandinavian football, both on the pitch and the fans?

I think the game is more tecnical but slower football over here. In league 2 it´s more long balls, and you have too fight for every ball. The tempo is high and the game is very physical, I havn’t seen so many crazy tackles in my whole career.

 

5) What are your fondest memories of your time at Walsall?

My first game when I came on after 60min. I played pretty good and felt very welcomed by the fans.

 

6) Who were the real characters in the Walsall dressing room?

Dean Keates. He´s not the biggest guy but a real fighter and he has a big heart which is not easy to find.

 

7) In general was your Walsall experience a happy one? Would you change anything?

For me personally it was a failure, I know that i´m a much better than what I showed. I think I needed more time to settle in.

 

8) Out of your Walsall team mates, who had the worst dress sense and taste in music?

I don´t really care what people ware or listen too.

 

9) How did the team celebrate winning the title?

We all had a night out in Brum.

 

10) Did the players look at any of the fans websites after they won the title?

I did and i´m sure alot of the guy did too.

 

11) Would you like to return to English football one day?

Maybe ..

 

12) How are you finding your new club? Great to see you’re scoring goals for fun.

I’m very satisfied with my new team, we try to play fun football. I’ve scored 4 goals in 4 games so far. Enjoy playing again and it’s good to be back in sweden. I really missed swedish girls when I was in england.

 

13) How do you think Walsall will perform in League One this season?

I don’t know much about the new players but I hope they play well and that they end up somewhere on the upper half of the table.

 

14) Who are the best players you have played alongside and against?

The best player i’ve played with is Kim Källsröm.(Lyon) Against: Joe Cole.

 

15) If you could play for any club in the world, who would it be?

Man United
