Netan Sansara has had his 28 day contract at Dundee terminated.
The Dark Blues manager Gordon Chisholm signed the former Walsall left-back last week and played him against Queen of the South the following day.
Unfortunately, he gave away a penalty kick, which was saved by goalkeeper Rab Douglas but then the released Walsall full back received a red card for two bookings, the latter for ‘spitting in the direction of the assistant referee’. A decision which has been proven to be highly controversial given the players positioning inside the 6 yard box.
The 21-year-old was handed another chance to impress at Ochilview on Tuesday night but struggled along with the rest of the team and has now been released. His manager told The Dundee Courier:
“I have told Netan that we won’t be following up our interest.”
On the game, a 4-1 defeat, Chisholm told local journalist Jaqui Robertson:
“I think that’s probably the worst defensive display I’ve ever seen, I don’t think we won a header all night. We were second to every ball.”
“I thought it was embarrassing, defensively, I thought we got bullied, and it’s just unacceptable, and I’m not accepting that. The two boys up front bullied us all night.”
“The attitude has not been right to start with”, he said of the players who rightly hung their heads on leaving the pitch. They’ve went out there and they’ve been bullied. Stenhousemuir wanted to win the game, and we didn’t look as if we did. Every tackle, every header, every ball, they were first to. No complaints for Stenhousemuir – they done really well. We’ve got to look at ourselves and say that is just unacceptable. We can’t have standards like that, not after Saturday, I’m not accepting it.”
