Opposition View – Walsall vs Yeovil Town

opp_viewIn our new feature, Walsall Web-Fans tracks down the views and thoughts of our opposite numbers.  This week, Yeovil Town fans talk to us about the FA Cup, why they don’t like Bristol, and former Saddler Sam Williams…

Thanks to the forum users of the “Green Room II” messageboard for their thoughts on the 10 questions that I posed them earlier.

WW-F 1.How have your new signings settled in thus far?

Tommyboy: First couple of games you could see that there was no intention that they’ve gelled but i believe now that we are getting there.
Boxer: Half and half from what I’ve seen, hopefully with time and definite potential.

2.Who should Walsall look out for on Saturday? Any predictions?

T: Gavin Williams, Andy Williams
B: Kerrea Gilbert, presuming he plays

3.Where do you see your club finishing in the table this season?

B: Hoping for mid table, 10-14th
Cider Jaarn: 16th

4.Who do you consider to be your main rivals?

B: Friendly rivals of Exeter, and not so friendly with both Bristol’s!

5.How highly is Terry Skiverton regarded by the fans?

CJ: Mixed bag, but respected by most.

T: Everybody at Yeovil love Skivo for what he’s done over the years as a player, so he’s very highly regarded.

6. What relationship do you have with chairman John Fry?

CJ: Many would like to divorce him
B: He’s done well getting us here now I wouldn’t put money on him knowing what Yeovil is

7. Do you have any recollections of your two FA Cup games v. Walsall in 91-2?

CJ: Went to both games, both were close games, we managed to nick a goal in the reply and hang on in there.

8. Walsall had Sam Williams on loan a couple of years ago. Do you rate him?

T: Was okay at holding it up, other than that no way good enough to have the reputation as a ‘Striker’.
CJ: Sam should be a League 1 footballer, a bit of desire and less attitude would serve him well

9. Any plans for ground expansion?

CJ: We should have a 15,000 capacity with excellent facilities for all supporters in place within 5 years. I also expect Joey Barton to be a special peace envoy to the middle east by 2016.
T: There is a five year plan going on but don’t know why as we get poor crowds as it is.

10. Do you have any celebrity fans?

Siwel7: I’ve seen the no no no yes guy of vicar of dibley in the ground a couple of times.
T: I don’t know if Ian Botham counts as he did play for us briefly.

Many thanks to Tommyboy, Boxer, Cider Jaaarn and Siwel7 from “Green Room II” for their contributions!
