FA Cup Third Round Ball Numbers

as it happensWalsall are still in with a chance of making the FA Cup Third Round for the first time since 2006/07 where we would be joined by Premier League sides such as the Big 5, but knowing Walsall’s history in cup draws, should we see off Dagenham and Redbridge we are more than likely to be paired with a Championship side like Bristol City,Leeds United, Millwall or Southampton; or a League One or Two side.

Memory Lane – New Full Time Assistant Manager Richard O’Kelly

Memory LaneWalsall Web Fans looks back at Richard O’Kelly’s Walsall playing career which was in two spells. His second spell may only have been short but was most valuable. He signed for The Saddlers from non-league Alvechurch, which also supplied Walsall heroes David Kelly and Ron Green, in October 1979 by manager Alan Buckley but with the team having such a successful season in gaining promotion from the Fourth Division, he had to wait until the opening game of the 1980-1 season before making his debut, in the 0-2 defeat at Reading. He opened his goalscoring account in his third game in a 1-1 draw at Colchester. He went on to become Walsall’s second leading scorer in his first season with  seven goals, just two behind Don Penn. He played that season behind Penn and Buckley playing in thirty five games.
