FA Cup Third Round Ball Numbers
Walsall are still in with a chance of making the FA Cup Third Round for the first time since 2006/07 where we would be joined by Premier League sides such as the Big 5, but knowing Walsall’s history in cup draws, should we see off Dagenham and Redbridge we are more than likely to be paired with a Championship side like Bristol City,Leeds United, Millwall or Southampton; or a League One or Two side.
Post Match Review – Dagenham And Redbridge
On the 15th October, I missed Walsall’s last league win because I went to see Plymouth play against Dagenham and Redbridge at Victoria Road. Determined to not see Walsall lose, as I thought they would that day, I thought potentially seeing a scrappy League Two match would be better. I was sick of not seeing Walsall score and Jon Macken get no service, and since he was injured at the time, replace that with Alex Nicholls run around aimlessly. And, obviously, I like going to London and seeing my friend.

FA Cup Second Round – Dagenham and Redbridge Preview
I tend to always end these articles with, to paraphrase, ‘if we don’t beat these, we’re going to get relegated’ and then we lose. Well, I’ll start that way now. Because, seriously, if we can’t beat Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday, we might as well just give up now, lie down in front of our goal for the next few months and build for League Two.
Doncaster rock Walsall with loan recall
On loan midfielder Mark Wilson has returned to Championship parent club Doncaster Rovers just four days after extending his loan deal at Walsall.
Stevenage Review
I didn’t get a match preview done for the game against Stevenage, so, to make amends, here’s a match review, since I went along with other hardy souls to Broadhall Way yesterday and have got the start of a chesty cough as a result: I knew I should have worn my other, warmer scarf…
Memory Lane – New Full Time Assistant Manager Richard O’Kelly
Walsall Web Fans looks back at Richard O’Kelly’s Walsall playing career which was in two spells. His second spell may only have been short but was most valuable. He signed for The Saddlers from non-league Alvechurch, which also supplied Walsall heroes David Kelly and Ron Green, in October 1979 by manager Alan Buckley but with the team having such a successful season in gaining promotion from the Fourth Division, he had to wait until the opening game of the 1980-1 season before making his debut, in the 0-2 defeat at Reading. He opened his goalscoring account in his third game in a 1-1 draw at Colchester. He went on to become Walsall’s second leading scorer in his first season with seven goals, just two behind Don Penn. He played that season behind Penn and Buckley playing in thirty five games.

Walsall tickets, just can’t give them away

Fortunately, I missed the Bury game but couldn’t find anyone, friend or foe, to take my ticket because no one I know wanted to go to see Walsall. A lot of them chose staying at home and waiting for the Aston Villa on Monday was a far more preferable option; others couldn’t be arsed; others didn’t reply.
