Notts County manager Martin Allen has likened his side’s FA Cup tie today against Stevenage as playing an episode of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
Mad Dog says victory today will the cash-strapped club a whopping FA Cup payday and is dreaming of a Premier League giant in the next round, which he says will earn the club seven figures.
County nearly knocked out eventual winners Manchester City in last seasons competition, drawing at the county ground before being knocked out at the Etihad Stadium.
Allen said:
“It’s a £1m game. You get through this and you get one of those big boys away from home it’s £1m.
“It’s like that Chris Tarrant game, isn’t it?
“You go through all those rounds and you end up trying to pull one out of the bag for a million quid.
“We’re that close. That is what this weekend is about.”
Lets hope City have a massive FA Cup distraction on Tuesday night when they visit The Banks’s
