Emmanuel Ledesma’s agent has confirmed that the Argentine will not be back at The Banks’s Stadium next season.
Walsall have offered Ledesma a two year contract but the speculation of interest from Middlesbrough has now materialised.
His agent Lucas Cominelli told Sky Sports:
“We are talking with Middlesbrough, yes – but nothing has been signed yet. We are just awaiting the offer and we will see from there.
“There are two other clubs also interested from the Championship so we will see, Emmanuel is not in a hurry, he is calm. But Middlesbrough are who we are talking to now and are ahead of anyone else.”
“Emmanuel was very happy with Walsall, they welcomed him in and did very well for him. He has nothing against playing for Walsall, but playing in the Championship would be an obvious step up for him. He knows all about that level having been there with QPR and is keen to return.”
We all knew the 23 year old was headed for bigger and better things and we wish him well for the future. After two spells with the Saddlers helping to secure our League One status two years on the trot, he has earned the right to step back up to the Championship. With a baby on the way, he will seemingly have a choice of destinations on wages that will far outstretch anything put on the table at WS1.
