Bristol Rovers have terminated the contract of former Walsall youngster Craig Stanley by mutual consent.

The 29-year-old was a summer signing for Rovers from Morecambe last summer by former manager Paul Buckle on a two year contract.

Stanley made 34 League Two appearances for the Pirates last season although only 11 of these appearances were made by Buckle’s replacement, Mark McGhee.
