Rene Gilmartin has left Watford following the expiry of his contract.

Signed from The Saddlers in July 2010, Rene found first team football limited at Vicarage Road after establishing himself as Walsall’s no.1 under Chris Hutchings.

Rene mainly had to make do with Cup football for the Championship outfit but in November finally got his league chance.  Two games later he was withdrawn from the first team and his manager made him available for loan after admitting he was in need of match sharpness.

Gilmartin initially joined League One Yeovil on loan in January 2012 and once returned was sent out to Crawley Town.
