Huddersfield Town are set to announce the signing of former Walsall defender Anthony Gerrard from Cardiff City.

Last season’s League One play-off winners have had an offer of £350,000 accepted by Cardiff and are believed to have put a three year deal to the 26-year-old.

Gerrard has not played for the Bluebirds since missing the final penalty against Liverpool in February’s League Cup Final. He was also left out of Cardiff’s pre-season tour by manager Malky Mackay.

Leicester City had been believed to be heading the queue of clubs after Gerrard with Bristol City hoping to persuade the centre back to make the short journey along the M4.
