With the Chambers twins Adam and James playing in Walsall’s opening League One fixture against Doncaster Rovers, you have to go way back to the 1982-3 season to find the last time brothers lined up in a Saddlers shirt together.
It was on the 7th of May 1983, Ollie Kearns joined the action as a second half substitute to join elder brother Mick against Bradford City.
The Kearns boys only appeared in a Walsall team seven times together. Ollie, a striker, only had the one season for The Saddlers, whilst goalkeeper Mick was winding down his career and was back-up to Ronnie Green by this time.
It is hoped that the Chambers lads play a lot more regularly together.
