Walsall have been linked with an on-loan move for Bristol City full-back Joe Edwards on loan.
Sky Sports reveal the 21-year-old Robins academy product is attracting a lot of loan interest from League One with Yeovil and Stevenage also in the hunt.
Tough tackling Edwards, who can play on the right or left, has recently signed a new contract at Ashton Gate after impressing during a month loan spell at Yeovil Town under former City manager Gary Johnson last season, with Johnson keen to take the player again this term. Last season also saw the player spend a longer spell Stockport and make a couple of appearances in The Championship for Bristol City.
The Robins are keen for Edwards to taste more regular league football this term and a season long loan is preferred to continue his development
James Chambers has only signed non-contract terms with Walsall so it is entirely believable manager Dean Smith is looking at other options.
