AFC Bournemouth look set to sign Watford, Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham, Manchester City, Portsmouth and Bristol City keeper David James ahead of Walsall’s visit to the South Coast tomorrow.
The 53 times capped England international had been training with Exeter over the last month being based in Devon, but a move to the League Two side never looked on the cards.
Harry Redknapp is believed to be behind the arrival of the player who is clearly delighted to be back in first team football, telling his twitter followers yesterday:
“Just finished my first day’s training with AFC Bournemouth. Delighted to be joining them. Thank you to #ecfc for their help. Game on!”
Asked whether James will face Walsall tomorrow, Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell responded:
“He is not too keen to start because he feels he would have liked a few more days to get back into it. But he will definitely be either on the bench or playing and, all being well, will be available to start on Tuesday”
